Cayla George returns to bolster Boomers for WNBL21/22

April 28, 2021 | Melbourne Boomers news

WNBL Life Member and club captain for the past two years, Cayla George, is set to return to the Deakin Melbourne Boomers for WNBL 2021/22 Season.

Heading into her fourth consecutive season with the Boomers, George doesn’t hide any of her excitement at coming back to play down south this year.

“I’m super hyped about coming back to Melbourne,” says George.

“My Boomers journey still has pages to be written and I’m excited to come back and play for Guy (Molloy) and rock the purple!”

The Australian Opal is also a strong prospect to be chosen for the final team headed to compete in the Tokyo Olympics in July.

George currently resides in Cairns, and due to last year’s Hub season being played in her backyard in Far North Queensland, it’s been quite some time since she was able to spend a substantial amount of time in Melbourne – let alone, play in front of her beloved Boomers fans.

“After over a year away from the city, I’m excited to get back and boom up!”

“Whatever the season may look like, I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

As 2021/22 shapes up to be a super exciting season with a touch more normality in the mix, we’re excited to see George back out on court for the Boomers, doing her thing.
