WNBL Head Coach Opportunity
The Deakin Melbourne Boomers aspire to be a leading force in the Melbourne and Australian sporting landscape, pursuing excellence and dedicated to the empowerment and promotion of women’s sport.
The club now seek a Head Coach to lead our WNBL Basketball Operations, delivering a team that are committed to a standard of excellence, both on and off the court, that enhances the reputation of the players, the team and the club.
The role will be responsible for:
- leading and coaching the team to maximise their performance in all aspects of the game;
- the delivery of a best practice high-performance environment that provides players the opportunity to develop and reach their full potential;
- identification and recruitment of players; and
- promoting the Club across the Australian sporting landscape to grow the Club and the game.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Demonstrated high level of knowledge of basketball with specific regard to coaching, high performance athlete development, planning and performance technology including relevant accreditations
- 5 plus years coaching experience at International, Australian WNBL / NBL or other Top League level is desirable
- Proven ability to lead, manage and develop diverse teams and individuals.
- Proven ability to create a vision, establish buy-in, execute and drive performance to achieve results.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with the capability of being the primary spokesperson for the team
- Based in Melbourne
