World-class coaching at Talent ID sessions

May 24, 2019 | Melbourne Boomers news

Development of junior girls basketball talent in our community is a key purpose of the Melbourne Boomers. In line with this, three Talent ID sessions run by the Deakin Melbourne Boomers during the April school holidays, provided 80 young girls with world-class coaching by Boomers Head Coach Guy Molloy and rising star Chelsea D’Angelo.

The program was ‘invitation only’ for U12, U14 and U16 girls from the Boomers’ Association and Club Partners; one of the benefits of Clubs and Associations signing up as member of the Boomers.

This was a rare opportunity for players to absorb insights and professional training tips from one of Australia’s top basketball coaches.

In a moment of inspiration, the girls were also able to hear young local star Chelsea share her journey to the WNBL. Chelsea spoke about the level of commitment needed in order to succeed as a professional athlete.

The sessions were a great success and enjoyed by everyone involved.

We will be releasing our 19-20 season Clubs and Association (and Individual/Family) membership packages during June so be sure to look out for a package that suits you.
