Jade Melbourne Commits to UC Capitals

The UC Capitals proudly announce the re-signing of star player Jade Melbourne for the upcoming WNBL season. The 21-year-old has committed her future to the Capitals, bringing her dynamic talent, dedication, and unwavering positive attitude back to the team.
Jade’s stellar performance in previous seasons has cemented her status as one of the league’s standout players, last season receiving recognition as Caps MVP, WNBL Fan MVP, and named on the All WNBL First Team. In December, the Caps co-captain was named in the Australian Opals extended squad, after helping the team to qualify for Paris.
“Re-signing with the UC Capitals is an incredible opportunity, and I’m thrilled to continue representing this awesome team and its loyal fanbase for a fifth year,” said Jade.
“Together, we are building something really special, and I’m excited to contribute to our continued growth towards success.”
In season 23/24, Jade accumulated 309 points, 96 rebounds, 145 assists, 33 steals and 8 blocks, leading the league with average assists.
Overseas and since being traded to the Washington Mystics, the guard has been going from strength to strength, recently top scoring in their game against the New York Liberty with 21 points and averaging 11 minutes per game.
