Flames’ round six games postponed

The Brydens Sydney Uni Flames games this week have been postponed.

The scheduled game against the UC Capitals on Wednesday night and the game against the the Perth Lynx in Gippsland have been postponed due to COVID health and safety protocols.

The Flames had been in Canberra ready for the clash against the Capitals but are now returning to Sydney.

The WNBL announced on Wednesday a number of changes to the round six schedule _

  • Sydney v UC Capitals, January 5 at Brydens Stadium
  • Southside vs Perth, January 6 at Dandenong Stadium
  • Townsville vs Adelaide, January 7 at Townsville Entertainment Centre
  • Sydney v Perth, January 8 at Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium
  • Adelaide vs Southside, January 9 at The Lights Community and Sports Centre

The WNBL stated “the health and safety of the players, coaches, clubs, staff and fans is the League’s number one priority when considering these matters”.

“The WNBL will continue to follow the advice of governments and health authorities. Regular testing of all players and team staff will continue, while further testing will be carried out on individuals impacted or those deemed close contacts.

The league will work with all teams to reschedule games in the coming weeks.”
