Hoops Capital has strengthened its ties to the Sydney community by announcing an exciting new partnership with Australia’s leading leisure venue management company, Belgravia Leisure.

The deal will see Hoops Capital, which encompasses both the Sydney Kings, Sydney Flames and Hoops Capital Academy, effectively take over the management of Basketball programs in their three Liverpool venues; Michael Clarke Centre, Michael Wenden and Whitlam Centre creating new programs and adding value to existing association relationships that currently operate in each centre.

From holiday camps to development classes and social competitions, to offering exclusive ticket offers to Kings and Flames games and an opportunity to interact with their heroes, Hoops Capital CEO Sean Nicholls is keen to see how this partnership can grow.

“We’re excited to strengthen our connection with the greater Sydney community and help the Kings and Flames deliver a one-stop shop for all things Basketball and build a new generation of Kings and Flames fans in the process,” Nicholls said.

“Basketball is one of Australia’s biggest participated based sports and one of the few sports in Australia where numbers are actually increasing year on year. The conversation with Belgravia grew out of demand for Basketball services and the desire to deliver real and tangible benefits to the community in that space.”

Byron Gulpers, who manages the Michael Clarke Centre, is ecstatic that Belgravia Leisure is partnering with an organisation like Hoops Capital.

“Over the past few years, we’ve seen a spike in more women and children in particular wanting to play basketball at our centres, which we believe can be credited to both the growth of the NBA and WNBA and the success of the Kings on the court, ” Gulpers said.

“This partnership will be broad-based and focus on programs for children and women in particular with participants having the chance to experience professionally run programs and at the same time rubbing shoulders with their role models – delivering what will undoubtedly be a hugely positive impact on their lives and the Liverpool community at large.”
