Flames unveil uniforms for WNBL25 campaign

The Sydney Flames are excited to unveil their uniforms for the fast-approaching WNBL25 season.
This year’s jerseys, designed by Hoops Capital’s Za Rathie, are once again primarily black and white but have shifted to grey as the away jersey colour.
This ‘quality-of-life design change’ to not having white-based kits addresses worldwide concerns from athletes about wearing white during their period – with the grey base ensuring players can always play with full confidence.

The other tweak in the colour scheme this season is a splash of pink, which comes on the back of the successful first-ever Pink Hoops last season.
“The pink jerseys last year for the Flames at Pink Hoops looked amazing and the girls loved them,” said Flames president Victoria Denholm, whose club has also decided to move player’s surnames below the number to ensure full visibility, unobstructed by anyone’s hair.
“They chose to wear them multiple times post Pink Hoops and it really speaks to our values as a club and the incredible concept and cause born from assistant coach Tiana Mangakahia and raising awareness for breast cancer.
“We’ve also incorporated pink into the team’s everyday kit, which was sparked by a comment from the famous Melbourne Boomer, Bernie Dodd.

“We’ve been on a brand journey with the Flames the past few seasons, creating uniforms that speak to our fans – we want to inspire the next generation of girls and pink is certainly a colour of choice for that.
“Plus we’re a club that deeply cares about our players, our staff, our fans and our community. I think the homage to Pink Hoops really embodies that.”
In terms of the design itself, the Flames’ home uniforms (which are black and white) will for headlined by the ‘F’ icon for the first time, which will be outlined by a pink trim.
While the shorts maintain the Flames of the F Icon like last season but with updated colours.

Differently, the club’s away uniforms (grey and black) will be fronted by the ‘SYD’ wordmark for the first time.
The Flames tip-off their WNBL25 season with their home opener against Canberra on Sunday, November 3.
This fixture, part of the Hoops Capital club’s first double-header of 2024-25 alongside the Kings’ match with Tasmania, tips off at 1.45pm AEDT at Qudos Bank Arena – with tickets still available here.
