Ruef signs NBL1 North deal with Capitals
The Brisbane Capitals have announced the signing of Sydney Flames forward Mikaela Ruef for the 2025 NBL1 North season.
Flame #161 Ruef brings a wealth of experience to Brisbane, having played close to 150 WNBL games for Sydney Adelaide, UC Capitals and Townsville.
“Mikaela has been arguably the most dominant player in the NBL1 North competition over the past five years,” said Capitals coach Caddie Jeffries.

“Last season, she averaged an impressive 18.5 points, 21.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game—a testament to her all-around impact on the court.
“Having someone of Mikaela’s calibre join the Brisbane Capitals is exciting, and it’s a fantastic opportunity to have her involved in our senior program.
“Her willingness to work with our juniors makes her an invaluable addition for 2025.”
