The Perth Lynx are back on the winners’ list after defeating the Sydney Uni Flames 93-74 at Bendat Basketball Centre.

Despite coming into this game with a 1-4 record in WNBL20, the Lynx came out firing from the tip-off and secured a convincing 13-2 lead within five minutes of the first period.

The Lynx managed to maintain the double-digit margin for majority of the game, shutting down a fourth quarter Sydney surge.

Lynx co-captain Katie Ebzery had another outstanding game, finishing with 28 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals.

In the absence of injured import Imani McGee-Stafford, Maddie Allen stood tall and continued making her mark on the league. She was impressive across the board, managing eight points, nine rebounds, three assists and a game-high three blocks.

Lynx coach Andy Stewart was pleased with the teams efforts.

“It’s really nice, we know we can play good basketball and we’ve been so close in recent weeks. We’ve learnt a lot from those losses.”

Colleen Planeta was the Flames’ best, finishing with 23 points and eight rebounds.

The Perth Lynx next play on November 22 against the Sydney Uni Flames in what will be their third meeting for the season.
