Thursday preview – Perth Lynx @ Adelaide Lightning

October 11, 2017 | Perth Lynx news

The Perth Lynx face their first road trip of the WNBL season, as they take on the Adelaide Lightning on Thursday 14 October.

After a disappointing opening round loss, the Lynx will look to record their maiden victory of the season against an Adelaide side that split their first two games.

Perth matched up incredibly favourably last season against the Lighting, sweeping the season series with an average winning margin of over 28 points, but a significant overhaul to Adelaide’s playing roster will see the Lynx needing to play at their best to get the edge over their hosts.

Courtney Williams is set to build off of her outstanding debut, in which she scored 26 points to go with 12 rebounds and four assists, while Sami Whitcomb is poised for a bounce-back game to kick-start her campaign.

Kayla Standish plays her 100th WNBL game against a Lighting team she once represented, while South Australians Olivia Thompson and Alex Ciabattoni will also look to impress during their homecoming.

Amanda Dowe showed plenty of positive signs in her WNBL debut last week, and is set for a critical matchup in the paint against former Perth centre Ruth Hamblin, with the Lynx also needing to keep tabs on Abby Bishop, Natalie Novosel and impressive youngster Nicole Seekamp.

The Perth Lynx clash with the Adelaide Lightning on Thursday 14 October, with tip-off scheduled for 5pm WST.
