Abbey Ellis Extends Contract with Townsville Fire After Breakout Rookie Season

The Fire are thrilled to announce that Abbey Ellis, the WNBL’s breakout player of the season, has extended her contract for a further year.

 

Ellis has been a revelation in her rookie campaign, making an immediate impact with her dynamic play, relentless energy, and clutch performances. The 24-year-old guard has quickly become a fan favourite at the Fire Pit, showcasing her ability to contribute on both ends of the floor.

 

Head Coach Shannon Seebohm praised Ellis for her dedication and rapid development throughout the season.

 

“Abbey has been outstanding for us in her first year,” Seebohm said. “She plays with great intensity, and her growth has been incredible. We’re excited to have her continue to build with us and play a key role in our future.”

 

Ellis has proven to be a key contributor for the Fire, delivering impressive performances throughout the season.
